About
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone releasing hormone in which a trans-3-hexenoyl group is attached to the N-terminus of the 44-amino-acid sequence. It has been through formal clinical development and holds an approved indication in certain jurisdictions, which distinguishes it from most compounds in this catalogue. Mechanism
The molecule binds the growth hormone releasing hormone receptor on pituitary somatotrophs, and the N-terminal modification is intended to reduce degradation by plasma peptidases relative to native GHRH. Clinical literature associates sustained stimulation of the growth hormone axis with changes in the insulin-like growth factor 1 axis and with measured reductions in visceral adipose tissue in the studied population.
